Finding a woman feels pretty weird for me [M21]
Hello and I feel that as an autistic person, that finding a woman whom I like to date gives me a weird feeling.
And I meant finding a date through offline means (I hate online dating). Many people gave this advice like “You can find a women many locations and you just need to ask them for a date.”
When people say this to me, then I always have these “What if…?” questions in my head: like are they taken/married? do they want to talk to a stranger? Do they only like the same sex? What if they’re busy? etc.
I thought as a kid with only friendship that you can get a relationship, but that’s complicated, because the girls only expect them to be friends, at least also from my experiences. It can lead to the “friendzone”.
I am not in a need for a girlfriend personally, but I rather wait for the right person to have and to speak to.
I am not using that post to look for someone, but rather as my experience with Autism and Relationships. Like in middle school, I wanted one of those girls to be my girlfriend, but it backfired and I was rather annoying them with my “affection” and I fully regret that and I reflected on that. Yeah, I was a teen/“weird kid”, but I didn’t know how dating worked and I was just wasting my time to be honest.
