Looking for a job where I can sit
Hello. I'm coming on here as a last resort. I am currently a lower level manager for a large entertainment venue and I enjoy it a great deal. I've been with the company about three years now, and everything was on track for me to keep moving up within the company.
The thing is I have a spinal disability, and I'm unfortunately at the point where I'm in need of a job that I can sit down at. I say unfortunately because like I said I do love my job, but I genuinely can't live like this anymore. I'm very upset that it's come down to this, and my job has been MORE than accommodating, but I need something where I'm sitting about 90% of the day.
I'm not looking for advice on how to stay at my current job, as I promise my own bosses and I have gone through everything we can think of. HR even tried helping me out.
I'm here to see if ANYONE knows of ANY receptionist-esque jobs (or any job with high sitting probability) on the market right now. I've applied to.. many. Many, many. However, every application says I need about 1 to 2 years of front desk experience.. which I don't have. Or even medical experience. Which I understand, it just sucks in my case.
I have experience in customer service/service recovery (fun word for dealing with upset guests), Microsoft Office (Excel, 365 Business Central, Word, etc), leadership & team development (performance reports, coaching new team members), and revenue growth such as sales forecasting and KPI anaylsis. I also have experience with handling crowds of up to 1,000 people, and I have event photography experience, both taking photos and fixing cameras. (That one is a little out of left field, but is a part of my current job lol)
It doesn't even have to be a receptionist job, just anything where I'm sitting down 90% of the day. I'm looking for part-time, but I'm not going to say no to a full-time job either obviously. Thank you in advance for any replies, and sorry mods if this isn't allowed here.
