Someone celebrating sobriety or being clean is nothing that should be congratulated.

I don’t get it. Did you miss the D.A.R.E program? Did you miss every single lesson or tv show or over the top ad that they threw at us when we were teens talking about the dangers of drugs and alcohol?

How many movies did you watch growing up where things turned out well for the person doing hard drugs?

“I’m 5 years clean!” Cool, you want a pat on the back for finally staying away from the things we all knew we should stay away from? I’m sorry you were stupid enough to think you could dabble in hard drugs and not have it fuck you up?

“I’m 10 months sober.” Oh man, you must have been the only person in the world who didn’t know about alcoholism or the risk involved in drinking. I’ve never had that problem because I took the lessons seriously.
