WHOOP couldn’t explain why I burned the same calories walking 13,000 steps as 1,500 steps — so they refunded me instead
48 OLD MALE , RHR 56, HRV 53. Fit and active.
8 days of my WHOOP data:
🔴 1,515 steps = 1,987 calories
🔴 13,438 steps = 1,910 calories
I asked WHOOP to explain this.
They couldn’t.
8 support agents later — they just refunded me instead.
Turns out WHOOP’s algorithm penalizes you for being fit.
Low resting heart rate = walking is invisible to their algorithm.
An unfit person doing the same walk gets credited 400+ more calories.
For months I thought I was lazy. I wasn’t. My tracker was broken by design.
Filed a BBB complaint. Got refunded within days.
The calorie question was never answered.
Anyone else experienced this?”
