35 and struggle all the time to know 'what I want to do'
I have for my entire life struggled with that feeling of not knowing what I want to do 'career' wise. I'll change my mind every 4-6 months, burn myself out of one job or get bored of it and feeling like I need to find something else.
My current background is vocational school. Esthetics and Massage Therapy, but I've managed to convince myself that its not what I 'truly' want to be doing. I have phases where I feel like I am supposed to be doing something better, more prestigious, have a college degree (which is another struggle in and of itself). Or I get bored of what I am currently doing and try to seek out something else.
Right now, I am going through a low. I am working in esthetics 2 days a week, working in the hospital 4 days a week (EVS). I take one class per semester, I am married and have a young child. For the last 6 months I've been set on wanting a career in the hospital due to interest in anatomy/health and income stability, but now I am not even sure if I want that anymore. I am also work this much due to cost of living (husband works too, but and makes more but not enough)
My in-laws look at me weird because I can't make up my mind, so its another added pressure of this feeling like I HAVE to figure out what it is I want to do and stick with it and then the cycle continues. Think of a different career, work in or around it, get tired or bored, think of something else.
Its kind of tortuous half the time. I know its because of ADHD, I was diagnosed as a child. I am just looking for others who can relate to this and what they have found to be helpful solution.
