Don’t mistake my silence for waiting 🔥
I want you to know that your reaction to me ending something that wasn’t fulfilling me has been one of the biggest eye-openers I’ve had.
Reading the things you’ve been posting about me has only confirmed that I made the right decision.
You talk about how much I loved you. You talk about how obsessed I was. You talk about me breaking our original agreement. You paint this picture of me that honestly doesn’t even resemble who I am.
The truth is, if I loved you as much as you claim I did, I wouldn’t have walked away.
People don’t walk away from something that’s giving them what they need.
I wasn’t asking for perfection. I wasn’t asking for a commitment you weren’t willing to make. I wasn’t asking for some grand gesture.
I was asking for the bare minimum.
Consistency.
Effort.
Communication.
Someone who showed up more than once every few weeks with a random text message.
What hurts isn’t that things didn’t work out. What hurts is watching someone rewrite the story instead of acknowledging their part in why it ended.
How many times have I forgiven you for repeating the same cycle? How many times did I give you another chance because I believed what you said and hoped your actions would eventually match your words?
Yet the one time I choose myself, suddenly I’m the bad guy.
Suddenly I’m the one who didn’t care.
Suddenly I’m the one who broke everything.
The reality is I wanted to see if things could be different. I wanted to see if this time you’d actually show up and make an effort.
Instead, you proved exactly why I had doubts in the first place.
And what really gets me is that you act like you know me so well. We’ve spent so little actual time together, yet you speak as if you’re an expert on who I am, what I think, and how I feel.
You don’t.
You know the version of me you’ve created in your head.
Not the real me.
I never claimed to be perfect. I made mistakes. But I was honest about what I needed, and what I needed wasn’t unreasonable.
I needed someone willing to meet me halfway.
You couldn’t do that.
So instead of having a conversation, you took to Reddit.
Instead of accountability, you created a narrative.
Instead of fixing what was broken, you made sure there was even more damage to repair.
I’m not angry anymore.
I’m disappointed.
Because despite everything, I genuinely wished you well. I thought you were a good person. I wanted better for you.
But if this is how you handle disappointment, rejection, or hurt feelings, then maybe walking away wasn’t my loss after all.
The part you don’t seem to understand is that I didn’t leave because I stopped caring.
I left because caring wasn’t enough to keep carrying the weight of something that felt one-sided.
And here’s the thing: I’m not chasing you.
I’m not going to fix something I didn’t break. I’m not going to beg for a conversation, compete with your pride, or convince you to do what you should have been doing all along.
If everything you’ve been saying about how much I cared is true, then the ball has always been in your court.
But understand this: the door isn’t going to stay open forever.
Time has a way of making decisions for us when we refuse to make them ourselves.
Right now, you’re choosing Reddit posts over real conversations, assumptions over communication, and pride over effort.
That’s your choice.
My choice is to keep moving forward.
If you want to talk, then talk.
If you want to make things right, then make an effort.
Show up.
Be honest.
Be consistent.
But don’t mistake my silence for waiting.
Because I’m not standing still anymore.
At some point, enough time passes, enough damage is done, and what could have been becomes what never will be.
And when that door finally closes, it won’t be because I didn’t give you chances.
It will be because you ran out of them.
