One of my favorite songs that remind me of the loneliness of the plains, and the heartbreak that comes along with the outlaw lifestyle, a lifestyle that is heavily romanticized in a lot of media, but RDR2 goes out of its way to remind us how brutal and short many of the lives were for those who lived in such a way, one of those musical pieces is a song called \*Red River Valley\*, specifically a cover by American country artist, Michael Martin Murphey, which fits the vibe of the game (or at least my specific style) perfectly. I’ve shared a screenshot of the lyrics in photo 2, and a link to a YouTube video can be found here:

Another one of my favorites is a song named \*“Highway Man”\* by The Highway Men, a supergroup consisting of outlaw country legends of Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson, but originally recorded by Jimmy Webb. The song is about the soul of an outlaw who keeps reincarnating further into the future, suffering a violent end to a violent life, until they finally reach the future where they come back as a pilot of a starship - and when the outlaw, now star man dies, he ponders if the cycle will repeat & he will be reborn as a highwayman again.

What do you listen to, if anything? The ambience is nice, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes you just wanna chill on an overlook and ponder the decisions that lead us to that very moment. The people we’ve hurt, stolen from, the lives we’ve taken just to ensure we would walk away from a confrontation that turned violent, and the wealth we’ve gained, but at what cost? The song I’ve shared, it captures a very specific mood that this game delivers perfectly EVERYTIME.

Recommend your favorite songs to listen to while playing RDR2.
