How do I get my confidence and judgement back after an accident?
Hi, last year I somehow crashed my exc, ended up breaking my wrist and getting major road rash. (I wore proper gear, otherwise I may be missing limbs. Wiped out at 35 mph on a dirt road.) I used to be able to warm up in an hour or so and be ready to accomplish anything, now it’s like I’m way overthinking everything. One of the first things I did was go on a very technical trail that I struggled with last year, told myself get through it and I’ll be good, but I don’t feel any more confident. I did the same trail a few more times, I’ve been riding dirt roads, practicing my maneuvers, but I feel scared to the point where my decision making is significantly delayed. It’s like I’m having issues locking on to one specific area of a difficult trail, I slow down, and by the time I slow down I’ve lost all of my momentum. Is there any way to beat the mental side of this? I know what I’m capable of, but in practice I lose it.
