**World Cup is back, baby 🍾🍾🍾**

And somehow the opening game managed to deliver one of the weirdest spectacles I think I've seen in recent time. When was the last time a World Cup opener in history ended up with 3 red cards?

Home fans were booing their own team, begging for someone to do something. Although the initial raging of the crowd was top notch!

South Africa produced what has to be in the conversation for one of the worst World Cup opening performances ever, yet somehow, feels like the game could end up with more people sent off

Absolute chaos on an historical game for all the wrong reasons

South Africa spent large portions of the game looking like they had just met each other in the tunnel before kickoff. Mexico controlled most of the action but never quite turned their dominance into the kind of scoreline that the match probably deserved. If I were mexican, I'd probably feel ashamed for not getting one or two goals more

As for the bet, I wasn't able to get the price I originally wanted (1.64), but still managed to grab a decent number before kickoff. Once the second red card came out, I more or less stopped sweating it. In fact, I went to vacuum the kitchen. That's about how comfortable things felt at that point

Shoutout to everyone who rode along, tomorrow there's more of this

Tomorrow's lunch is on South Africa 👐

Cheers
