[help]Need help seeing if I’m getting screwed
I own a 2018 f150 eco boost, 3.5 super crew. Bought it brand new. Two months ago I take it into my local mechanic who came heavily recommended and trusted from previous vehicles. They told me the valve cover was cracked and I needed a new one and gasket and a new pcv valve. I tell them to go ahead and 3 weeks later o get my truck back. The moment I get home the check engine light comes on, i take it back in and 3 days later get told they fixed it they even drove it 20 miles to make sure it wouldn’t come on. Well the very next day the light comes back on I call and tell them I will bring it in when I can as they have my other daily vehicle I can’t be without one due to work and family. Well then it starts smoking from the rear passenger side of the engine a white smoke that smells almost like oil and rubber burning. After taking it back and noticing the oil drain cap is also leaking oil I tell them what I’ve noticed and they told me if it isn’t a rolled gasket it’ll be out of pocket. None of these issue we’re going on when I first brought it in. What do you think of this situation am I getting the fu pricing and attention. And do I need to take other precautions to cover my own butt?
