AITA for not mentioning I have kids for a few weeks?

I22F have two kids, 5 and 3. I have been split from their father for a little over a year. I recently have been seeing this guy for the last few weeks, probably around 6 now. We’ve went on a few dates, and I have went back to his house for the first time recently. I have been very nervous and private about my children because I’m super new to being a single mom, and the dating world. I also thought there was zero purpose if we weren’t going to be serious, but the way we have been talking it seems like we are heading that way.

We went back to his place a few days ago (my second time going there) and he asked me about my
Place and why we never go there. I told him I thought we should talk about it, and explained my children, my fears and my anxiety. He was very taken a back, then said he would’ve never cared that I had kids but he couldn’t believe I’ve been lying about it for weeks and how I thought he could’ve been a weirdo. I tried to explain I didn’t think that about him, but I’m just cautious but he just got upset. Then he somewhat questioned how I was able to go out so often, it kinda felt like my parenting was being insulted and we got into a small argument. He said I can’t just blindside people, and I should’ve been honest from upfront. He asked me to leave.

When I got home I sent him several messages apologizing, which he didn’t answer til this morning, and has been very dry with our text. AITA
