Questions for Vets

Hi! I want to become a vet, and will be going into a vet program (not college, but a year long college prep thing idk how to explain it) next year. I know the downsides of being a vet, and still cannot see myself in any other career paths, really. Anywho, I have a few questions I was curious about.

  1. How often do you get needle sticks? How bad do they hurt and how often is it an actual issue?

  2. Again with needles, I am a bit creeped out by needles. I just hate getting shots and don't like seeing people get shots, but I can deal with it alright. I would love to get over it, so if anyone had a similar fear and got over it, could you tell me the best way?

  3. A lot of people I see on the internet say they don't like being a vet and regret becoming one. What is your opinion on that?

  4. I am mainly wanting to go into veterinary science because I love science and I couldn't see myself in a non-science career, I want to become a medical provider, I am willing to deal with the stress and am good at managing it, and just overall want to be able to work on animals to help both the animal and the human, even if sometimes it doesn't turn out the way I want, I know that I work hard to help, and I'm good at being optimistic and being able to remember all the good when something bad happens. And obviously, I love animals (but thats not really a reason to become a vet because I think most people love animals lol). Anyways, my question is, with all of that being said, are those good characteristics for a vet, and am I more likely to enjoy it?

  5. What is the process of becoming specialized in small pets? Is it around the same or do you go from dogs & cats and THEN go to small pets?

That's about it :)
