Not sure what’s going on

My husband and I were very active during ovulation week. My periods are typically very regular and no real issues, cramping a little but nothing crazy. I’ve recently started breaking out and my nipples are super tender (not typical for me) I’m supposed to get my period 6/18 and yesterday 6/10 I started having faint brown spotting only when wiping, nothing consistently. And same for today, just brown slime with an occasional hint of rust. All at home tests are negative, he’s convinced I’m pregnant but I told him I don’t think I am and to not get his hopes up. Am I just gearing up for a rough period? (The negative tests are telling me that) Any opinion is welcome please
