Am I fried at lakeside freshman year

I just completed my housing appointment and chose an apartment single at Lakeside because it’s more private, spacious, and has its own bathrooms. However, I know that the downside of Lakeside is that it’s far from the reitz union and basically everything else on campus except Southwest Rec, making the social life kinda sad. I’m a finance major and want to make a decent amount of friends and meet new people- am I cooked?
