Best laptop for a mixture of school/work/and very light gaming?

I currently have an inspiron 5402. Sadly, it is somewhat on its last legs as it is failing me. I have wanted to upgrade for some time, and now have the means and motivation. I am in the US and sky’s the limit on the budget as I am someone very frugal, and wish for this to be a long-term investment on my studies and work. I am looking for new, not used. Ideally, a larger screen size than 16” with no specification for weight.

I do primarily want it to last the remaining year of my master’s degree and will then go for my doctorate which should be about four years. I have a gaming pc for all my gaming needs, but typically enjoy playing lowkey games on my laptop (such as wizard101 or emulators that are overall not demanding at all).

I prefer a standard laptop that I’ll mostly be using citrix on for my internship and work. I don’t exactly care how the games run as I simply want them to run okay-ish. Ideally a pretty decent battery life of over 6 hours if possible. Thank you!
