Pros and cons of living in Santa Clara?

Apartment hunting on Santa Clara feels like a lottery depending on which building and block you land on. The lifestyle and neighborhood vibes are obvious draws but I keep wondering how much of the rent is just inflated because of the location versus actually getting something worth it.

I've toured a few spots that seemed solid at first but learned not to take that at face value. Started checking complaint histories and running addresses through streetsmart to catch red flags that wouldn't show up in a showing and it changed how I look at listings. Noise issues, slow maintenance and bad management seem way more common than listings suggest.

For anyone who has actually lived there, would you move back? Are there neighborhoods where day to day quality of life is noticeably better?
