Its sucks being in a family of winners while you are just average.

Serious

In my family, most of the men are IITians with ranks under 3k, my dad, so many mamas (mom's brothers), so many mausajis (mom's sisters' husbands), and now even my cousins.

I cleared the exam too, but I'll never really be in their league. I'm not going to IIT Bombay, Madras, Kanpur, or Delhi with branches that close under 3k. Even with the female quota, I'm not getting a college or branch good enough to compete with that.

My dad was a legit genius, and everyone around me reminds me of it constantly. My dadi still has his certificates and trophies ready to show. My parents can't do that for me. They're happy and proud, sure, but deep down I know I can never compete with them.

You’re a bit above average, so everyone expects a lot from you because your family is has those "IIT genes" or "smart genes."

My dadi loves telling me how my dad played and had fun even while preparing for JEE and still got a rank way better than mine. I sacrificed everything for this exam, barely went out 5-6 times in two years. Meanwhile, he finished his boards the day before his paper.

Usually, the newer generation does better. I somehow managed to do the opposite.
