Heres your answer
I do not wanna go in depth with my personal story but i will just say ive been dealing with hard flaccid for over 5 years and the severity of my hard flaccid is more extreme than anything ive read on here. I do not say that to brag in some twisted way but as an encouragement that if i can get better you can as well.
Everything i share here is my opinion but i think will be proved right down the line as more research is done
What is hard flaccid- hard flaccid is the involuntary chronic clenching of the pelvic floor secondary to a problem elsewhere in the body. Hard flaccid is not a injury to the penis or pelvic floor its a downstream result of your body having a problem that leads to you chronically clenching/kegeling. For me i started to lose the strength in my hips prior to hard flaccid occuring and that is not a coincidence its a direct cause. You see when i lost my hip strength the body natural clenches the muscles surrounding the hips to provide more strength and stability to the hips. But my body didnt just clench my hip muscles it also clenched my pelvic floor naturally because those muscles are near the hips. A few months of this guarding/clenching and hard flaccid came onto the scene. This is also why there is a connection between ehlers danlos disease and hard flaccid. They experienced weakened joints and the body tries to correct it by clenching everything.
Causes- Im not going to rehash what i just said about hip weakness but I will add that I dont think its limited to hips and think most likely any weakness that causes you to clench your pelvic could be the source of your hard flaccid. The next cause is pain/injury. I remember reading a story on here of someone who was dealing with hard flaccid while having a hernia and subsequently had the hernia fixed and the hard flaccid gradually went away. To me that makes perfect sense because if someone has a pain such as a hernia or back pain that constantly bothers them, this can definitly lead to a chronic guarding or clenching as a bypodruct and obviously lead to hard flaccid. I will say there are theories on back pain like it impinging on nerves that lead down to the penis and that is definitly possible im not a doctor but i would reckon its probably simply the pain leading to clenching rather than some complicated nerve issue.
The fix- I think the doom and gloom here is simply because people have been led down the wrong road for treatment. again this is simply my opinion and i may be wrong but stretching, pelvic floor therapy, yoga etc will not help your hard flaccid. the only caveat is if you have some extreme range of motion problem that causes clenching but i do not think thats likely for most. For most people i think its going to be weak hips or other muscular weakness or some form of pain like back pain that leads to you chronically clenching. The pain cause the only thing i will say is that you have to be honest with yourself and take a assessment of your body, maybe you do have some injury or pain that youve been ignoring and that should be treated as soon as possible whether it be surgery or physical therapy. For hips and muscle weakness similary assess your body as best you can and i would advise seeing someone who can better assess you such as a physical therapists. For me with my hips the best things ive found to were walking and just standing for hours. my problem was my hips werent strong enough to relax when standing and the more i stood while trying to relax the stronger and more relaxed my hips became. also just because i got stronger and started being more relaxed didnt mean i started to see results right away. Its taken months even after my strength started to feel decent to see positive results and improvements so dont be discouraged if you dont see results right away. The whole point of your treatment should be to figure out why you are chronically clenching your pelvic floor and fix those problem or problems so you pelvic floor can relax and return to normal.
Additional- a good way to tell your clenching is to pay attention to your anus. people with hard flaccid will almost constantly have there anus in a sucked in clench position and you want it be in a relaxed almost push out position at least thats what i felt as i got better. another thing is stress which i see people constantly talking about as a cause. i dont know what to make of it i sort of see hard flaccid as a physical problem but im not totally disregarding stress as a factor its just difficult because it s chicken or the egg problem. another thing is i think a portion of those who comment on the board do not have hard flaccid. if your penis is not rigid and non bendable i do not think you have hard flaccid and you are doing a disservice to yourself by not getting it checked out. thats all im gonna type for now and im not going proof read what i wrote so i apologize if i made some errors.
