Destiny would have an much stronger case for defamation against Ethan than Ethan has against iDubbbz or any other streamer

I've been conflicted over the whole iDubbbz and Ethan drama. Setting the precedent of being litigious against your detractors purely out of spite is a bad one to normalize, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. What iDubbbz did was unhinged, but at the end of the day it's a very weak defamation case, especially since it was Destiny's original claim that was being broadcasted. Comparatively speaking, suing Destiny for what he said on stream would actually be a much stronger case. But Ethan would never do that. Why? Because he knows he got absolutely demolished in Destiny's response, and Destiny would have a much stronger case against him than he has against Destiny. Ethan would have to face that response video and all its associated claims head on in any countersue scenario, and frankly, Ethan doesn't want the smoke.

Ethan is clearly petrified of Destiny. Even in the most recent clip of him explaining why he isn't suing him, he is laughably charitable and almost polite given the insanely unhinged comment on screen. That's because Ethan knows very well that Destiny was right about everything, and Ethan's own statements were just as reckless if not more so in his original stream. It's a cold war now where both of them know the score, but Ethan will never say a word because he poked that bear and saw what happened. Ethan got lucky that Destiny's response flew under the radar, because if it had been shown to a larger audience, he'd be cooked. By the end of that video I had my eyebrows raised way higher at Ethan than at Destiny, and that's putting it lightly.

Open any LSF thread that mentions Destiny and it's flooded with comments calling him a pedophile. Pretty much all of them are unsubstantiated or outright false, with the lefties and the groypers joining forces to smear this man. Ethan was largely responsible for boosting these claims to one of the largest audiences they had ever been in front.

And in my eyes, malice could probably be argued based on the simple fact that Ethan has made countless similar jokes and hyperbolic statements as an edgy online personality, just like Destiny has. By his own standards, he would also be a pedophile.

Here's a highlight reel of some of the insanely reckless statements Ethan made on that stream:

"What looks to me to be a consistent, long-term, highly motivated, premeditated child predator."

"This dude has made it like his personal crusade to normalize sexualizing children."

"Go support this fucking weirdo creep potential pedophile."

"So now I've confirmed that this guy has child porn on his computer."

"You are supporting someone [...] who shared compromising bikini pics of a 15-year-old."

"He's constantly blurring the line and trying to normalize the act of adults sleeping with minors."

"Imagine receiving a bikini pic from a 15-year-old in your DMs, a fan of yours."

"So, listen, the guy's a creep. He's a fucking degenerate. There's no other way to cut it."

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Destiny probably won't do it, that's not really his style. But unlike Ethan's lawsuits, this would actually be grounded in legitimate defamatory claims. It's the difference between using the legal system for real defamation and weaponizing it to silence your detractors.
