Three month check-in didn't go great.
I felt pretty good going into it, the nurse that checked my blood pressure and everything was super nice and asked me about my birthday plans which was super thoughtful. Then she ended up taking my blood pretty much right away which had me excited as I anxiously wanted to know how I've been doing. But after she left a nurse practitioner came in instead of the doctor I had spoken with last time and the vibe with her was completely different. She wanted to know what changes I noticed so far and asked if I wanted to continue and I said yes, she then asked if I wanted to increase my estradiol and I said yes obviously but after that my heart sunk because she said it would take 3-5 business days for my lab results to come back so she wouldn't write me a prescription until NEXT week and that was really, really disheartening. I only have enough pills left to last me until Monday and I don't want to miss a single day of HRT let alone two or three... ;'( I wasn't expecting this at all, is that the norm? Because on my initial visit the doctor just gave me my pills pretty much right away as soon as my visit was over, she didn't wait for my blood work to come back so why was it different this time? I go to Planned Parenthood if that makes a difference but I'm pretty upset. She also mentioned that since my next dosage would be 6mg that I would need a pill cutter so I can take them in 1.5mg increments but I had planned on splitting it into three times a day: 2mg once in the morning, 2mg in the afternoon and 2mg at night. Is that not recommended for pills? I just feel kinda sad now and this isn't the result I was hoping for.
