Are copy editors still in demand?

I offer copy editing and proofreading services through Upwork.

$7K+ earned, 100% JSS, Top Rated, and a client relationship score of 67%.

I don’t submit proposals because they rarely get opened. Instead, I boost my profile. That strategy worked consistently for me until about three months ago.

Since then, I’ve stopped receiving invites, but my connects keep disappearing.

I reached out to some of my previous clients, and a few of them told me they’ve started using AI to edit their books themselves. Fair enough, lol.

So, my question is: Are there any copy editors here who are still landing new gigs on Upwork?
