Hi all, I hope this is the right place to ask for this.

I was given a portable AC by my landlord as the central AC doesn't work in my apartment. However, the portable AC itself has been a pain in the ass.

when anyone of us in the apartment is taking a shower, the AC would immediately trip the breaker and all sockets in my room would just go out of power (tested taking a shower with AC off, and nothing would happen), so I suspect that it has something to do with the water heater being on the same circuit and an overload tripped it. However, after it trips the breaker for my room, the water heater is still working and producing hot water. And sometimes, it would randomly trips when the compressor kicks in (sometimes flipping it back on will just trip again few moments later after I turn my AC on again).

I've tried cleaning the filter, no help, tried disconnecting as much plugs as I can so that the AC can have more power for itself, would still trip during showers and sometimes randomly when not in showers.

Since my landlord is kinda hard to deal with, and my lease is ending in September, I don't wanna face him with another issue like this, but summer without AC is just unsurvivable, and it tripping the breaker every now and then certainly doesn't help.

Any suggestions is appreciated, thanks!
