Emirates flight change to 49 hour layover, asking for advice

Question

*Also posted on the Emirates sub.

I run the route from JFK to Entebbe, Uganda about 3-4 times a year, usually with Qatar but I get on Emirates every few years.

My booking later this month was clean: Saturday departure EK204 from JFK to DXB, 1.5hr layover, then EK0729 onward to Entebbe on Sunday.

Likely due to the Ebola outbreak in DRC, Emirates cut their late June Entebbe route from daily to only 3 days per week.

This leaves us with a 49 hour layover in DXB as we wait until Tuesday for the next EK0729.

The trip was booked via Chase travel portal so of course they have to handle the ticket. The best option I have is to get on to a FlyDubai flight that departs on Monday (still a 24 hour transit, but that's the next flight available).

When Chase contacts Emirates, they are not given permission to make any changes to FlyDubai, only refund or change the flight.

For personal reasons, I don't want to get a refund at this point nor do I want to change the JFK departure out of its current time slot.

At this point I fully plan on taking the flight as scheduled, and taking my chances with the ground staff at DXB.

I'm hoping (perhaps misguidedly) for 2 things:

- a change to the FlyDubai flight

- a complimentary hotel despite the layover beyond 26 hours

Does anyone have anecdotal experiences in this situation and maybe having success once on the ground in Dubai?

Thanks
