Itinerary + town question

Spouse and I will be visiting for our first visit in late September. Seeking advice on location.

• Arriving ~10:30pm late Thursday night
• Friday, Saturday, half Sunday - Dublin
• half Sunday -> drive west to ?? Killarney/Killorgin/Tralee/Kenmare (see below question)
• Sunday evening -Thursday evening -> TBD list of stuff - Ring of Kerry, Killarney National Forest, Dingle visit, other TBD things
• Drive back airport hotel Thursday night
• Friday -> flight

We have flights, Dublin hotel, and car rental settled. Just need to settle on the Sunday->Thursday home base location.

We debated on having two non-Dublin home bases versus just one and we settled on one spot in the Ring of Kerry region. We'd like to just be in one central spot with some limited driving versus feeling like we were always moving from hotel to hotel. In terms of what we like - I used to be all about packing the itinerary, but now would love just being in a quiet town, pubs and restaurants avialable, quaint cafe time with of course the option to go do typical tourist things. Would prefer in a town or village as opposed to isolated countryside.

Any advice on the non-Dublin base? I am leaning towards Killorgin or Killarney as it seems like from that northwest point, we could more easily hop on the Ring of Kerry, or head out to Dingle, or if we wanted more driving, drive up to the Cliffs of Mohrer one of our days.
