I’ve been following this game for so long
I don’t know how it happened, I don’t know why I fell into it, but I’m sure myself and alot of the other members here aren’t just the average person who is simply ‘waiting for GTA 6’. Of course we’re all waiting, but it’s not something we’ve just expected to come and let it be that.
I never became overly obsessed with following GTA 6 and all the news, but since the 2022 leaks I’ve been following somewhat intently. And I’ve never actually followed anything like this so intently. The idea of GTA 6 has become a key figure on the list of things I’m looking forward to. I don’t think a single day has passed where the thought of GTA 6 releasing hasn’t crossed my mind, or I haven’t read news, or checked in on the subreddit. It’s become basically a commitment.
And thinking about when it actually releases, I get this strange feeling. I don’t believe it won’t live up to the expectations I have, but all this will be done. This is something I’ve kept up to date on for 4 years. This is an active community which I took part in vigorously which is unlike any other online community due to the fact that we’re all just \*waiting\*. We’re waiting for something. And it’s almost here. And that waiting will be gone the moment I boot up that game, yet I feel like it won’t result in a release of tension, but instead be more akin to some kind of hollowness.
I still remember the hype when trailer 1 dropped. Seeing that notification and tuning in literally immediately. And then trailer 2 drops an hour after finishing a big exam when I’m on the bus home, and I’m nerding out with my friend, and the hype just grew. And it’s died down a bit, but that excitement hasn’t really shrunk.
I don’t really know what I’m trying to get at. It’s just crazy how prevalent the release of this game has been to all of us every single day and that soon the wait will be over.
