Jane's goal is saving John. This is well established. This is her entire motivation. She is in the realm solely because she wants to help John. Her entire questline is about gathering information about what happened to John. So why the hell is her kit about beating up the killers and making them take more damage? And more importantly... Why is Purified not the killer status effect and Resonance the survivor status effect? Isn't she supposed to be purifying John?

Really consider what she's doing with the crystals. She's just smashing a crystal over John's head, making him vulnerable and take more damage. She then clobbers him with a fire axe. And you can't say she's trying to just break off the corruption, that stuff is clearly in his brain with how it's covering his eye. She's just killing him faster. Additionally, a fire axe wouldn't do that, nobody is stupid enough to think that. If a flintlock ball, sword wielded by a sword master, and a literal turret can't break the corruption off, then what's a tool meant for breaking wood supposed to do? And if it's Resonance that makes it possible, well why doesn't it affect any other weapon in the game? The axe itself isn't magic or anything, it's clearly Resonance doing all the magic. The axe does nothing by itself and isn't even capable of stunning the killers on its own.

Additionally, why is Purified... damage resistance? Resonance at least could have a logical explanation, like maybe it's leaving them more exposed and having the killers soul or something resonate with... I don't even know. But... Purified. It's in the name. It should purify stuff. You don't "purify" damage. You can't pour disinfectant on a person then expect them to not die when they get punched by a meat child with fire powers.

But biggest of all... Why does she have Shatterpoint HP and why is she so frail without it? She looks physically fine, it's not like she's pale and about to wither away. She's not infected with some "Purified" corruption as it's clear whatever her cure is doesn't work, it just makes killers die faster from hits. Did the Spectre give it to her? If so, why? The Spectre seemingly only nerfs people, even Elliot's Rush Hour seems to just be him getting an adrenaline rush, not a gift from the Spectre. So what the hell is Shatterpoint?

Literally what is Jane's kit in general?

Jane Doe's kit makes literally no sense whatsoever
