New player here, what to use orbs of chance on?

Hello, I am new to POE2, I played POE1 a while back but never really got far. Currently in POE2 I am approaching the endgame and I want to upgrade my gear and get more currency.

So, what should I used my orbs of chance on, what white items should I be on the look out for? Also, do I need to get a loot filter? Is it a qol thing or is it necessary for the high levels.
