sci-mi EEMP, async

hello everyone! sorry that this is about the hundredth sci-mi post on this sub. i applied to async EEMP but was waitlisted even though i (personally) believed my application was pretty solid.

im seeing posts where people who wanted sync got waitlisted but offered a spot in the async track. i'm a little confused as to whether async spots were reserved for waitlist or something. i want to know -- did anyone who applied explicitly to async get accepted? also, does anyone know if the waitlist is ranked?

any insight would be appreciated!
