Encounters with crows, anyone?

Sharing: Experience :Cute_Witchy_1_-_112x112:

The other morning I was driving to work on the highway, just bebopping along to Kylie Minogue I think, and a crow flew in front of my car, kind of dipping down for a second with its wings all spread out and such, and it oddly seemed like it happened in slow motion or something. It felt almost like a "hello" from... I don't know what, the crow collective, an ancestor, the spirit world, something along those lines.

Crows to me are a reminder of all things mysterious, the underworld, our connection to nature, etc. I have felt close to them since I was a child (even befriended one for a while!) and love them to this day for their dark beauty, intelligence, and way of making every landscape look infinitely more interesting.

The morning I saw the crow, however, I was very much in the mundane world and fairly happy to be there. I had work on my mind but in a good way; I was making plans, feeling on top of things, thinking of recent (small) successes, etc.

Since it keeps popping into my head, I think that seeing the crow meant something, but I never had a sense of foreboding and tend not to believe the superstition that seeing a single crow always portends misfortune. For me, it seems to have been a reminder of my witchy side or a sign that it would reappear soon and say "hello" because, man, it really has in the last couple days.

It's like the crow was a familiar and even as I replay the image of it in my mind, I almost see warm sunlight reflecting off of it. Again, no sense of fear or dread. Only warm, uplifting energy. A powerful, benevolent presence reasserting itself. Am not sure how I will use this energy yet; right now it just feels like something to bask in for a while, maybe to be healed or strengthened by.

Just wanted to share and would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, etc.
