Training hours and contracted hours

Hi, i just started at greggs a few weeks ago and there hasn’t been a week where i’ve had my contracted hours met.

i asked my manager if that’s okay and they said it’s because i’m in training, so once i’m done with training i’ll be on my full contracted hours.

to clarify, i’m working normal shifts and not going on the computer to do training online. i’m doing sandwiches and tills etc.

just wanted to know if that’s correct or i need to speak with someone, i had no idea when i signed up for the job that i wouldn’t be getting my contracted hours met to begin with.
