Why will the events not play out globally?

I am playing a game as India during World War 2 and I am fighting a war with only Japan. Germany did its operation barbarossa stuff and it was good. But while fighting my war, I noticed only my front was moving and nowhere else was. Europe map has not changed for a year.
Apparently according to my advisor, Japan occupies the Phillipines, Malaya, and Indonesia. However, The in-game map shows the Phillipines being owned by US, Malaya owned British Malaya, and Indonesia owned by the Dutch East Indies. Its so frustrating and I keep telling the advisor ai to update the entire world globally but it never does work.

It never updates the world globally and the AI only makes claims on what happened without me even realizing it, what do I even do. Im too deep into this campaign to just straight restart.
