Am i dramatic or is my vet rude?

so straight to the point, my dog is 25kg, 23 inch tall and pretty long, long enough if his paws are on my shoulder his head is at my neck and I’m 5 foot 3inch and my vet is ADAMANT that my dog has to be on the table. my dog is terrified of the table because at his second vet visit ever it fell over while he was on it, because he’s so afraid he has multiple times almost hung himself on his leash trying to jump away from the table and it takes 3 people to get him up in the first place because he deadweights. once he’s on the table he shakes and has to be restrained by 3 people and my vet also always makes me restrain him so my dog always ends up quite afraid of ME after his appointments and I’m not sure if I’m being dramatic and he has to be on the table or if my vet is being unreasonable by not letting my dog just be on the floor for his yearly shots. any advice is appreciated.
