Why? The 4x1 I had was fine. I curate my own playlists. Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all opposed to being exposed to new music, but as a musician myself, i use tons of other avenues to find new stuff. All I need is a place with the songs available, and a way for me to put them in a playlist.

Now I'm supposed to reconfigure my home screen just to accommodate a function I do/will not use?

Maybe instead of wasting money on ai to build playlists I have no interest in, or recycle the same few songs ive heard a million times, and things like this, Spotify could idk, pay artists, and put money into making smaller/lesser known/actually interesting artists availible for people to discover. Maybe create a musical space that actually caters to the music and music lovers. I was fine with what I had.

Why is this being forced on me? Maybe I should get my cd's back out. Or my Zune. It's a 120gb time capsule with about 100 gb of free space i could very easily add to.

Idk, I'm being hyperbolic, but I am actually pretty frustrated that this is forced. Is there no way to allow choice? I do not want this. I want my 4x1 widget. I'm not well-versed on the legal bindings of widgets, but ive seen options for other apps. Even pic 2 shows both, but it will not set the 4x1. It just puts me back on the home screen telling me to update my widget. Just why?

To a lurking Spotify employee,

Hey Spotify employee, if this is forced on me, it's not going on my home screen. I'll put it on its own page, as far from the home screen as I can. I'm not a stare at my phone type. You see that fb icon? I haven't touched that in years. I stopped posting in like 2016/2017 and have been on less times than I can count on my fingers. (I do still have all 11) I've got the app because "what if someone needs to get ahold of me and thats the only way?!" I've been saying that for a decade, and im still waitin. So anyways, thats all to say, I'll use it less. I'll make it an inconvenience to use. I'll show myself how easy it is to not use. Also, I dont pay for the fb app. I do pay for Spotify. Guess what happens to things I pay monthly for, but don't use? How many other people do you think might feel like me? If this wasn't forced, I wouldnt be so peeved. Even if it updated itself, but I could manually put it back to how I had it, id be fine. Frustrated, a lil, but otherwise alright. When I and anybody like myself learn to live without, we will. How's that for your stock price dumbass? I've had free Spotify. I pay for Spotify, solely for the option of choice (including the choice to not have ads, but mostly choosing what my playlist is made of.) A forced 4x2 widget is straw, and I am a tired camel. When my ability to choose is gone, so am i.

I've got 10 fingers and that shitty joke was just to lighten my own mood. Thanks for trudging through my rant. Pic 3 added when I got down here and see ai getting it wrong as usual. This is not at all about song selection. Its about a stupid widget.

Widget pains.
