B550 PG Velocita - Dual Channel Ram Bss

Discussion

Good Day Everyone,

I am having an issue with my daily driver, it seems as if the dual channel part of my motherboard is not working properly.

My ram slots A1 and A2 seem to be running fine at single channel speeds. If I try B1 with any of the Ram sticks it works at the default settings. I am not getting anything other than RGB lights from the ram inserted in B2 with error code 0d.

What I found out:

  1. It's not the CMOS, I have 3 batteries so we can safely put that to rest, the bios is perfectly fine at 3.90

  2. I cleaned my pc and reinstalled windows because it needed a refresh. It's not crashing or anything just not running dual channel at 3600mhz

  3. A single pin on the cpu to the corner of the insert arrow is broken, still my pc runs normally just weaker at 2133mhz on the current ram settings.

  4. Both rams sticks are working and sometimes it will post on the B1 slot only.

Questions to you:

  1. If the ram slots were damaged, the ram is not suppose to light up? RGB is an indicator that the ram is getting power. Slot can't be dead if the Ram is powering on thou.

  1. That CPU pin that is broken, could it be my Achilles heel? I mean is the Ram getting power but the CPU not able to communicate with it?

  2. Any possible fixes? Or has anyone experienced something like this?

Final thoughts:

I have a spare 2200g Cpu lying around, I could try to solder back on the pin as I have a heat gun, soldering iron only missing the fluax thing. I don't want to and then it's the motherboard that's dead on that B2 slot.
