Judge McConnell scolds USCIS's delay tactics and enters immediate enforcement of June 5 judgement
Judge McConnell has slammed the USCIS for refusing to immediately comply with his June 5 ruling. He gave the agency 24 hours to give update about compliance.
USCIS officers have been telling applicants from 39 countries that the hold had been relaxed, but this judgement will help clarify everything to the public as the USCIS can no longer play hide-and-seek. It must now publicly issue a statement to announce an appeal or absolute compliance.
The USCIS will appeal to the First Circuit between tonight and tomorrow, but I doubt that they will actually be so obtuse as to appeal this ruling. I doubt that the solicitor-general will go along with an appeal, because what is he going to tell the Supreme Court?
