Sent home with a blank red book - what do we do?
We just had our first, and it was, to put it mildly, a nightmare. The hospital was completely overwhelmed, we were saddled with a completely incompetent midwife who seriously endangered our baby's health (we're filing a complaint) and just generally feel awful about the whole experience. So when we were handed our red book and told we could leave - we did immediately.
Now that I am home and going through the documentation, I realize that the whole thing is blank. There's a sticker sheet, but no birth details, no record of the examinations they did before discharging us, no record of the vitamin k shot (which we did have).
Other than a sticker on the front page with a barcode, we have nothing. Is this normal? Is everything just digital now? How concerned should I be?
