Applying to PMHNP thinking of getting psychotherapy training after !

Hello everyone , has anyone gone back to get psychotherapy training after completing their NP. I’ve been a forensic psychiatry nurse for about 2.5 years , I do float to civilian psych units . This December will have me at 3 years . I plan on applying to Psych NP school for summer 2027, by the time I graduate I’ll have 6 years under my belt . I plan on working in a underserved hospital to help with my loans and get experience . With the population I work with yes they need medication management but talk therapy , and trauma therapy helps them so much in combination with meds . I would like to become a trauma psychiatric NP, who’s been trained in psychotherapy or somatic experiencing . I know it would take an additional 3 years to train but I think it’s worth it . Has anyone here gotten additional training to provide trauma informed therapy ? I know the job market for Pmhnp is over saturated but I feel like if you are trained well and are good at what you do , compensation will come regardless especially if your will to get additional training , to actually be able to help people .
