6 month GAP to study

Hello everyone, I’m contemplating taking a six-month gap year to prepare for the CPA exam. I was currently employed as an audit associate at a top-10 public accounting firm, but unfortunately, I was let go because I couldn’t meet their expectations. While I genuinely enjoy auditing, the challenging aspect lies in the demanding workload and the lack of guidance. I’m determined to persevere, but I also don’t want to return to public accounting without obtaining my CPA license. I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have on this matter.

ps my mother said that 3 letters behind my name won’t make the difference if I am the problem, which could substantially be true but I don’t believe I am the problem.
