Long Beach Food Club @ Midnight Oil (June 18th, 6-9pm)
Come hang out with a bunch of people, get cheap drinks and food, and try out a new place.

What we are: We're like a book club, but for eateries in Long Beach. Every two weeks, we select a new eatery, our members come to our meetup(or try it on their own), we talk about the food, and mingle with the people there.
Who we're for: Anyone that wants to try a variety of restaurants with a group of people, anyone who is interested in recommendations around town, and people who want to support local businesses.
Why: I mentioned this on my other posts, but it's a few things. It boils down to: I want to try food with people, I want to support Long Beach businesses, and I want to do it with a group that's passionate about the city and what it has to offer.
This coming Thursday, June 18th, we're going to Midnight Oil.
Midnight Oil is an a 3-in-1 experience.
When you walk in, you're at the apothecary, the main bar. At the main bar, you'll be able to order drinks and food.
On either side of the main bar are speakeasies. Both with hidden entrances, the one on the right is The Lagoon and the one on the left is the Hand Laundry.
The Lagoon is a swamp of a bar. Swamp themed, swamp drinks, swampy. Mostly standing room.
The Hand Laundry is heavily Chinese-inspired - with cozy booths, more quiet music, and it's own cocktails.
We'll have specials in each one!
This is our first Thursday night event, which is a bit of a change up from our weekend model. Moving forward, we're going to have our regular meetups on weekends, and on the off weeks, we'll have a happy hour on Thursdays. More information to come on this next week!

- Our biweekly meetups are, and always will be, free to attend.
- You're more than welcome to attend even if you aren't buying anything. We want this to be a place where you can hang out and meet new people without feeling obligated to spend money
- We do NOT take any form of payment from these restaurants for meetups.
- We are NOT affiliated with any influencers, journalists, restaurant groups, or any other entities. If you see any posts by them regarding us, it is simply because they're interested in what we're doing.
- We have a group chat on Instagram, there's about 120 of us in there and it's fairly active. We may change platforms later, but so far, this is where we're at. You can access this chat by clicking the highlight for the group chat on our Instagram profile.
- We also have a Discord that's new, currently growing it out and looking for active folks!
