Men, what’s the biggest mistake you’ve made?

Bf (37) of almost 3 years left me (29) while 2 months pregnant after we got into a fight.

I’m hormonal and yes shouldn’t have gotten upset and started an argument. Then we went to his sister’s pool party where he proceeded to ignore me the entire time, even after I would ask him a question in front of a group of people. I felt embarrassed and got upset. We got into another argument leaving when I asked him why he was acting so childish. He screamed “STFU” at me so then we went back and forth. He started to taunt me and one thing led to another.

Before I knew it, he punched me in my stomach. I immediately started crying and called my sister. She doesn’t live in the state we’re at so she called the police to do a welfare check on me. He got so unbelievably upset at me and continued to point blame, not even realizing what he did. His sister came over and that made him stand his ground and point the finger at me even more, never once acknowledging his own actions.

The police showed up and I told them I was alright and I don’t plan on pressing any charges and tried to protect him. When they spoke to him separately, he pinned me as the sole bad person. We live separately so I ended up going back to my own apartment. His family validated him in leaving me 2 months pregnant when his own sister has a 2 year old and his SIL is pregnant (due 2.5 weeks before me).

He feels no remorse and I’m forced to go through this entire pregnancy alone. I work, grocery shop, feed myself, do everything. He a physician and works once, maybe twice a week. Other than that, he sits at home all day. He’s been avoiding me and will only do things on his own terms.

I feel like my mental health is declining as this pregnancy progresses and I carry the entire physical, emotional, and mental load alone. I told him I felt alone and he told me to stop being so weak. I just have no words. I feel like I’m drowning.

I told him that if he isn’t there for me during my pregnancy, he doesn’t deserve to be there when the baby comes. I know this too shall pass. Do men ever regret their actions and the way they treat the mother of their child?
