Keep Character but Delete Equipped Items on Death

Excuse my overhyped fantasy for a moment…

I don’t want to play normal wow again. At the same time - it feels like character deletion is just too brutal for the vast majority of “hardcore” gamers.

Imagine for Classic+ if they had a hardcore server where death deletes all equipped items and inventory items (spare quest items is up for debate).

You keep your character and anything in your bank including your gold. The gear grind is much less tedious than leveling a new character.

This would incentive holding extra gear sets for when you wipe. You would have your progression set that never leaves the bank except for raiding.

Regarding PvP - items should be deleted, not dropped for the other faction.
Battlegrounds/arena could be: play the whole match with your gear and if your team loses the gear is deleted.
