When I Was You

All enveloping darkness

A brief flicker

A hope

To continue

Numb

Then sad

Then numb once again

An ache to my core

A pain of no escape

Why am I still here?

What future is there?

I shake

And gasp

And search for reasons

To stay a little longer

You're still so young

You will learn to carry on

You find your pain

And fix it

One day you wake up

And the darkness is only in the corner
