How do y'all feel about the current use of "overstimulated" online
Because it's really frustrating for me! I keep coming across these videos of people like "things that happen when I'm already overstimulated" where they're just using "overstimulated" as a synonym for frustrated or overwhelmed. It always makes me really mad but I don't know if I'm overreacting?
Like, I have incredibly severe sensory issues. I get overstimulated very often and I always cry or lash out and usually end up hurting myself in one way or another. It really annoys me to see people who (to my knowledge) don't have sensory issues watering down the meaning of overstimulated.
I usually would post something like this on a moderate-high support needs specific subreddit but I wanted to get opinions from people across the spectrum. I kind of feel guilty for being annoyed because I might be misinterpreting but the videos always show things that are just annoying and don't relate to sensory issues so I'm fairly sure I'm right.
Have you seen videos like this too? What do you think?
