LinkedIn vs. Twitter/X for professional networking

LinkedIn is where you go to be seen by the right people. Recruiters, hiring managers, industry folks, it's built for professional discovery and that's exactly what it delivers.

Twitter/X is where you go to actually talk to those people. The barrier to reaching someone way above your level is basically zero. A good reply or thread and you're in the conversation.
LinkedIn gets you the opportunity, Twitter gets you the relationship.

The problem is LinkedIn is drowning in engagement bait and humble brags, and Twitter is drowning in everything else. Both platforms are kind of a mess right now but for different reasons.
