At this point, I’m at a loss. Sushi, my rose tail betta, had what I assume is popeye. I’ve been doing an Epsom salt bath every day and dosing with kanaplex. He finished his kanaplex last week so I’ve been keeping up with water changes to keep the water clean and the Epsom salt baths but he’s not responding to any of it. It’s not getting any better, if anything it’s getting worse. Originally he could see, it just looked bad. Now, a lump has developed under his swollen eye and it’s to a point he is having trouble navigating his tank or finding food when I feed him. Last night he was face down in his heart shaped hide, I could only see his tail, his face was just in the gravel and I don’t even know if he truly knew where he was. He has no depth perception and is basically nipping at gravel at the bottom of the tank trying to find food. He also has a tumor on his side that’s been growing since I got him and is now growing across his back to the other side. I’m wondering if it might be too heavy for him because occasionally I see him twisted in a way where the tumor seems to be dragging him down and other times he swims fine. I’m at a loss right now. I love my Sushi boy so much but I’m unsure what to do for him. I don’t have anyone I know to ask but I need guidance right now, if anyone has any advice to share.
