First tattoo advice ?

Hello, I’m getting my first tattoo for my 18th bday in a few months and just want to know some general advice. It’s an upper arm tattoo so I can imagine the pain isn’t awful but could anyone describe the pain to me? I have four piercings and I was completely fine with them but I know tattoos are a WHOLE other feeling, but generally speaking my pain tolerance seems okay. Also how do I avoid passing out as I know that can happen, I’m getting it very early in the morning around 9am so idk If that will affect anything either.

My mum took me into the studio while she was getting her forearm tattooed and I spoke to the artist, the artist is lovely and I’m so stoked to finally get the tattoo I’ve been dreaming of for years so any general tattoo advice is appreciated. I’ve done some research ofc and I know stuff since both my parents are tatted but I just wanna hear firsthand from other people with experience aswell :)
