Need advice, please help!!!
Hey everyone this is my first time posting here. For context I am a 27 year old male and have been dealing with this pain in the ass for about 4 months now. I’m an industrial electrician so a very physically demanding job and I only took a few days off after I got my abscess drained. A few weeks after that I went back for post op check up and it was a confirmed fistula. Which I already knew, I have been draining nonstop and have brutal pain after shitting. Sometimes days on end of horrible pain. So I finally scheduled a surgery that is coming up 2 weeks from today. My surgeon is highly recommending a fistulotomy but if there is too much muscle involved he will do a cutting seton. He says he won’t know until I am put under. Does anyone have experience with these surgery’s? My surgeon also said there are other options but they don’t have near the success rate as the fistulotomy/ cutting seton. How bad will work be for me after surgery? It has already been hell, but honestly I can’t imagine having an office job or something requiring you to sit all day. Thankfully I am never sitting, besides my commute. Anyone with experience in surgery please reply!
Very thankful for this sub, I don’t know anyone personally who has dealt with this. So going through this alone and not having any one to vent to has taken a mental toll. Worst thing I have ever gone through in my life. I didn’t know pain like this existed.
