For Recommendation Letter, only handwritten sign can be accepted?

My lawyer said like what I mentioned in Title.

It could be so tired thing like print, write down the sign, and scan for PDF...

How can I request those tired things to unknown recommenders... Is it really not acceptable anymore to use electronic sign?
