Extreme regret from not studying abroad

Hi everyone I’m currently going into my final year of university and I’m studying law in the UK.

I had the opportunity to do a study abroad but that would expand my degree from 3 years to 4 years. Honestly, I wasn’t set on doing a study abroad because I want sure where to go/ a year is too long to be away from my family currently.

However, all my friends are doing years abroad and it’s making me feel a huge sense of regret that I didn’t apply for a year abroad. After thinking about it for a while I feel as though studying in a new country is a once in a lifetime experience that I let slip away.

I’m not sure if these complicated feelings are from jealousy that my friends get to have so much fun in another country while I’m studying in the UK. Or from the fact that I just need to travel more (I’m currently saving up for this) and experience more of the world to make that jealousy go away.

I think these feelings stems from a lack of fulfilment from not going abroad / being adventurous but I’m not sure.

If anyone has any advice for me I’d appreciated it so much.
