Tattooer Website Advice, Please

Hey, Ladies! I moved to a new city unexpectedly not too long ago. I’m tattooing in a good shop, however they’re lackluster on promoting. Everyone else in the shop is local, born and raised, and have a good clientele including friends and family, of course. The shop has no website currently and claims it’s in the works for over a year, but there’s nothing happening.

I’ve never had my own website for tattooing. Is it worth it? Is it possible to gain momentum in search results without a huge financial investment? Or what other online platforms are working the best these days? Or advice on building a better, meaningful local following on IG? I post, but 95% of my likes come from my previous city, over a thousand miles away. A lot of tattooers say IG is pointless now.

I’m doing alright, but I need to be way busier than this. I also want to make myself known beyond the reputation of the shop I tattoo at. I’m the only woman here and it’s kind of a dude palace and I want to be found by other women and people who might overlook the shop I’m at assuming it’s not as welcoming to all as it is.

Any advice welcome. Restarting in a new city was easier than expected in some ways, but the dust has settled and I’m looking for solutions for forward momentum. Thanks in advance!
